Araña ends in ña: naranja does not start with the same syllable

Keep ñ when checking the join

A-ra-ña ends in ña; na-ran-ja starts with na. Therefore araña → naranja does not follow this example’s syllable link. One possible Spanish continuation is ñame: a-ra-ña → ña-me. Before accepting a similar-looking word, keep the letter actually present in the syllable.

The Alicia product facts document linking the last syllable to the next word’s first syllable, with visible words and optional audio. The game is in development for Android, with no public download. This guide’s candidates are editorial examples; we do not claim they are in the app’s vocabulary or among its cards.

Compare three different beginnings

Finding a word with n or ñ somewhere in it is not enough. After araña, compare the complete beginning:

CandidateFirst syllableDoes it match ña?
ñameñaYes, in this example.
naranjanaNo: n and ñ are not interchangeable.
ñuñuNo: ñ remains, but the vowel changes.

The third candidate avoids another confusion: recognising the correct opening letter does not settle the entire syllable. Read the full word, then compare ña with ña rather than just ñ with ñ. If the family does not know ñame, first check its meaning; you do not need to pretend to know it to continue.

After ñame, the chain now needs me

Once the example’s link is accepted, the next search begins from ña-me: mesa, me-sa, can follow. The sequence is araña → ñame → mesa. The open end is now sa. Do not keep looking for ña just because it was the first turn’s difficulty.

We keep the words in Spanish because translating them would change their syllables. Nor do we remove ñ to make typing easier. This guide does not establish how Alicia validates typed input or promise an autocorrection feature; it explains checking the agreed join.

Apply the check to the actual turn options

The documented family mode offers Peque three cards and Adulto six; after an adult’s correct choice, Peque checks the link. With words actually shown in a turn, ask which syllable ends the previous word and begins the candidate. If no option matches our example, do not force ñame to appear: review the available words.

Alicia has no points or timers. You can pause to read together without inventing a penalty. The game presentation explains its modes and current status. The practical step here is to retain both letter and vowel when comparing a syllable: na, ña and ñu are not three spellings of the same beginning.
