If the child would rather point to the card they are considering, start by acknowledging the choice and offering to read it with them. Alicia’s published family experience centres on choosing cards and linking Spanish syllables. You need not add your own requirement to recite every word to an adult.
Alicia is in development for Android, with no public download. This guide prepares adult accompaniment using the published game description. It is not an account of an installed session or a voice-recognition test.
Keep the chosen word in view
In family mode, Peque has three cards with pictures and syllables; Adulto has six text cards. Words remain visible and audio is optional. This gives the accompanying adult a visible reference when offering to read a word.
One suggested phrase is: “Is this the one you want to look at? I can read it with you if you like.” That is our suggestion, not an in-app message. Wait for the child’s choice rather than selecting the answer yourself and asking them to repeat it.
Pointing during your conversation does not describe a special accessibility control or establish that the app interprets gestures. It is a way of communicating beside the phone. The in-game choice still needs to use the controls provided by its version.
Return to the link
Here is an original Spanish language example: sopa → pato → tomate. So-pa ends with pa; pa-to begins with pa and ends with to; to-ma-te begins with to. Read the chosen word slowly if help is wanted, then ask which part connects to the previous word.
This is neither a guaranteed hand of cards nor an Alicia word catalogue. When the game becomes available, work with the options it actually displays.
If the child does not want to say the word aloud, do not turn that preference into a failed syllable connection. Offer your reading and allow the conversation to continue or stop. We do not claim that the game assesses pronunciation: its product brief describes word chains, not an oral examination.
The adult’s turn also needs checking
After Adulto’s correct choice, family mode asks Peque to check the syllable connection. Accompany that check by looking at the visible word and leaving room for them to indicate the part they want to examine. There is no need to add a mark, a reward for speaking more or an extra turn.
The published goal is ten cooperative links, without points, lives or timers. This approach to accompaniment does not promise literacy, pronunciation or clinical improvements. Each family decides whether the shared experience suits them.
Check the mode before choosing Alicia
Read the modes and current status. In Rally, Alicia supplies a word that continues the chain; the card arrangement described here belongs to family mode. Keep that distinction when considering a game that does not yet offer a public download.
Preserve the Spanish example words when reading this English guide. Translating sopa, pato and tomate changes their syllables and breaks the links.
